I am not a doctor, I can’t give any one medical advice on when to start and when to stop talking medication
My only advice is try not to self medication and ask your doctor’s advice before taking your own or any one else’s. If they are not a medical professional then tell them to f**k off.
Antidepressants: Do they help?
Every time I had come off them in the past the depression returned and I would find myself back in hospital. I have been told I have clinical depression and am unlikely to come off them.
The medication I take daily is:
My father was a tranquilizer addict. I have been on antidepressants and or anti anxiety medication for over 15 years. I am currently proscribed diazepam (Valium). I have a psychological addiction to the drug and limit its use to emergencies.
In terms of tranquilisers when a part of you believes that tomorrow you are going to die the stress, panic and fear is severe; if Valium helps, if smoking 40 cigarettes helped then do it.
I am very aware that taking sedatives can be counter productive and limit myself to 5mg or 10mg of Valium a day for a period of no longer than 5 days. When you are so stress you cannot sit down or even breath they hardly touch the sides.
Are they a solution, no. Do they get you through the day, yes. Do you learn anything when you take them, nothing.
I have seen a valium addict withdrawing, it is horrendous.
